The strangest scams of 2023Every year, we round up some of the most bizarre scams we've come across. One of the most notable involves fraudsters pretending to be a work colleague who is a secret admirer of the person they want to scam. They then seek a 'romantic' relationship in an effort to exploit them financially or through sextortion. Another odd scam saw fraudsters impersonating the government via a fake text message that requested Apple iTunes gift cards instead of cash.
